Tilmann Stewart (Til) is an award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Melbourne, Australia. From a young age, Til was captivated by the power of storytelling, using film to spark emotion, provoke thought, and ultimately inspire change.
After earning a Bachelor of Film and Television from Swinburne University, Til began his career in documentary filmmaking, combining a love for adventure with a passion for uncovering untold stories. His short doco, ‘Kentaro’ (2024) premiered at the Banff Mountain Film Festival, screening at festivals including Mountainfilm and Antenna and coming up St Kilda, winning the ‘Jury Award’ at the Climate Change Changing Lives Festival in Bangkok.
His upcoming feature, ‘Dzud’ , explores the intensifying climate crisis on nomadic Mongolian herders and is set for release later this year. In addition to his independent projects, Til has worked alongside global broadcasters and NGO’s, including the likes of NHK World and Save the Children. As a filmmaker, his mission extends beyond the lens—to educate, inspire, and contribute to a more connected and sustainable world through the power of storytelling.
